So here it is,  Leg Friday....Done!

Currently:
Biceps - L-10.75" R-10.75
Chest - 35.63"
Waist - 34.25"
Hips - 39.5"
Thighs - L-23.75",  R-23.75"
Calves - L-15.75",  R-15.75"

Last Week:

Biceps (unflexed): L-10.5"  R-10.5"
Chest: 35.5"
Waist (aka,belly button): 34"
Hips (aka, butt): 39.75"
Thighs: L-23.5"  R-23.5"
Calves: L-16.25"  R-15.75

Clearly, I am not good at self-measuring.  I'm only human.  I will get this right eventually.  I think I will have to get Dustin to help me out.  It's not as easy as it sounds.

Sheesh.  Well, any gain is probably due to muscle mass.  I definitely feel stronger.  Strong is the new skinny, ladies!

My legs don't give out as much when I run.  Even though today, on our leg day, I felt like I wasn't going to be able to get back up from the loathed lunge position.  You drop that knee and pray to God that you won't collapse and that you will be able to get back up and do it again.  Double miracle.  God is good, right?

Oh, the stories I could tell.

Like, how I almost threw up in my mouth 50 times this morning because my cheerios didn't sit well and we were constantly in a "down-set-hut!" position.  You know, hands and feet on the ground, knees off the ground, butt down, head up....holding for 30 seconds, then moving into bear crawls or butt kicks (or whatever you call them).  I think they are called donkey kicks.

These are so NOT easy.  Don't let the lady in this picture fool you.
Then we did some of these....our knees weren't touching the ground, like hers.  Or at least they weren't supposed to....I confess, my knee loves the ground.  It can't get enough.  As hard as I try to separate the two, they just keep coming back together.  Oh lovers.

We did so many lunges today.  Amy and I got there a few minutes early today (like you are supposed to!) and had the pleasure of warming up by jogging a lap around the track with 5 hand squats at each corner, then lunging to mid-field and finishing up another lap.....BEFORE WORKOUTS STARTED!!!

I thought warmups consisted of stretching and jogging!  When did lunges become a warmup thing?!  I veto that, Jerry.

Anyways, by the end of the morning I think we did a mile of lunges.

Yeah, most of them looked like this, but some of them were worse.  Way worse.  He called them ninja lunges.  That just sounds deadly.

So girlfriend, in the picture above, is in a standing position and then moves into the lunge position.  Regular lunges would just repeat: stand-lunge-stand-lunge, etc.

Not these demon lunges.  They are like picture number two, without ever returning to standing.  You are walking down a football field in a constant state of lunge.

Can you feel the burn just from reading this??  I can.  I think I am having a relapse.  Must. Stop. Lunging.  Ooouchh!

You know what, though,  I can feel the muscles in my tush!  Since when did I have muscles there??  Yeah, I know, since forever, but I've forgotten what that feels like!? So good.  So, so good!

We ended the day with lunges.  Again, from mid-field to end-zone.  I was the last one finished.  I don't care.  I almost collapsed once or twice.  I felt like every lunge would be my last.

But as always, I made it!  I am alive.  I have survived once again.

And I love how I feel!!  This is definitely the most I have ever loved-hated something so strongly.

It makes me feel awful. Like death.

And then, when I'm finished, I feel so alive.

What a weird mixture of feelings....so different, but they are felt together.  Or at least, one follows the other.

Way to go Friday!  You are awesome!

I have 4-4.5 more weeks left of bootcamp...I just got a Groupon in my email for 10 yoga sessions for $25.  I think I might go that route after bootcamp wraps up.

I can just see me now....
